Our client, one of the fastest growing Forest Management and Woodland Consultant in the UK are in search of a Forest Manager based in the Kintyre & Cowal Peninsulas.
This position would suit an experienced Forest Manager keen to work within a small dedicated company in a client facing role and the successful candidate would be expected to take the lead on the management of a portfolio of existing client properties and the development of new business opportunities. The role is supported by the senior management team who is familiar with the client properties that the new post holder will have ultimate responsibility for. Training and support will be provided to introduce the successful applicant to company systems and procedures.

The ideal candidate would be expected to have the following:
Demonstrable experience as a forest manager, where directly involved in the day-today management of forest properties and in dealing directly with woodland owners.
Have attained or be working towards their professional ICF accreditation.
Practical experience should include:
Knowledge of the regulatory systems and grant opportunities in Scotland.
Proven commercial acumen, and well-developed understanding of upland conifer, estate silviculture and woodland creation, and the full range of operations from new planting and restocking through to clearfelling.
Thorough knowledge of the requirements of UKFS and UKWAS.
Personal skills should include:
High level of motivation and ambition, with desire and ability to deliver a high-quality professional service to clients.
Ability to work on your own, or closely with other members within a small and dedicated team. Communication is key to achieving expected outcomes; you will be confident and effective in verbal, written or electronic communication.
A desire to seek additional responsibilities commensurate with growing experience and overseeing growth in your management portfolio over time.
Proficiency with IT systems, with Microsoft Office Suite, QGIS mapping, and the wealth of online resources necessary to fulfil core aspects of day to day forest management.
